23 August: International Day for the Remembrance of the Slave Trade and of its Abolition
The Slave Route Project seeks to break the silence on this historical global phenomenon. Exploiting the potential of multimedia tools to effectively address different aspects of this common heritage, UNESCO produced a documentary entitled Slave Routes: A Global Vision. Its diffusion in DVD format together with specially designed pedagogical materials, is particularly welcome on this commemoration Day, to increase our knowledge and enrich the debate on related themes.
